EXCLUSIVE ACCESS FOR EVERY BOOKED COUPLE
No matter what time of year, the exceptional beauty of Roan Mountain & the vast Roan Highlands located along the Appalachian Trail makes for an amazing hiking adventure, as pictured here in this gorgeous and whimsical Roan Mountain elopement. Spanning a series of five summits along the North Carolina / Tennessee state line, the Roan Highlands offers a very diverse landscape, featuring lush patches of spruce-fir forests, the world’s largest patch of Catawba Rhododendron (which display the most gorgeous pink blooms in early summer), and grassy balds that afford the wayfaring hiker with stunning panoramic mountain views. I love it because it’s one of the few spots in the region with easily-accessible, long-range views, and one of the few areas in the Southeast that give off some serious Colorado vibes too.

The Roan Highlands region of the Appalachian Mountains is what I like to call a “choose your own adventure” type spot. Hikers of all experience levels can enjoy a part of the region in some way. Those looking for a more relatively easy hike are still rewarded with amazing views without having to hike a long distance. For an even more exciting adventure, I would recommend a longer day hike to multiple balds or an overnighter atop the highlands complete with some of the best stargazing of your life.
This boho adventure elopement inspo is complete with two different looks to spark inspiration for your elopement experience dreams. The neutral-toned florals from the amazing Flaura Botanica match the aesthetic of the grassy highlands perfectly. Imagine a celebratory picnic after you exchange your vows with a view like this!!
And remember, no matter what you pack in, be sure pack it all back out. Please leave no trace and help preserve the beauty of these wild areas.
