With this line of work, it helps immensely to unleash some creative freedom every now and then. After all, it’s the core of being an Artist. One of the best ways to do that is to set up inspiration shoots and collab with other vendors who are also looking to showcase their creativity in the form of alluring and powerful images. This Columbia River Gorge elopement inspiration gave me such life and was such a joy to create and execute.
As I started to consider a transition from the east coast to the west coast, I became inspired to get out there and shoot as soon as I could. If I could have moved out there yesterday, I would have, hahaha. But until then, at least their are airplanes.
It’s been a dream of mine to shoot in the Columbia River Gorge outside of Portland, Oregon (and I wouldn’t mind going back at anytime!). It is the largest National Scenic Area in the entire country, and is quite the sight to behold. The aesthetic of the shoot was to recreate part of an adventurous elopement in the Pacific Northwest. The lushness and waterfalls of this corner of Oregon really draw me in and put a chokehold on me.
What I love the most about this shoot is the ombre look the dirt created on her dress. The bouquet and boutonniere created by Old Town Florist in downtown Portland really popped against the dark columnar basalt cliffs of that sunless morning. That day felt so magical and enchanting. I would be so honored to create more magic like this!!
